Feb 5,

Today was a big day for the community! We had a party to celebrate the opening of the airstrip. Caleb and I contributed flour, rice, ramen and Cheetos to every family in the village and then we all cooked garden food and met down on the airstrip to have a big potluck. Caleb cut the “ribbon” and they all escorted us to the eating area which was in Jamikas yard. There many people spoke and we were thanked for all of the work of providing tools and money for the airstrip project. It’s quite amazing what man power can do! They dug a jungle with shovels and bush knives!

Three days later we had an emergency where one woman gave birth but retained the placenta and we were able to call for a medivac to get her out to the nearest hospital to get the care she needs. I tried to sweep the uterus and get it out but it wasn’t budging the medivac was set for the next morning but thanks be to God her body rid it on its own and she was fine! We did not need the medivac. We praise God for all he has done!
